Making a Doctor’s Appointment

Days 220 & 221

Yesterday I called my primary care physician’s office to make an appointment.

Why you ask? Am I sick? Dying?

Nope. Very far from it.

A few months ago I was talking with a friend who mentioned that her husband went veggie and he found out that he had a vitamin D deficiency soon after going veggie. No biggie. He just adjusted his diet to get more vitamin D and then he was just fine.

I figured I should make an appointment with my doctor to see if I am deficient in any essential vitamins or minerals. This is just a precautionary measure as I feel great. Maybe I will get my cholesterol numbers checked while I am there too.

I will let you know how it goes. I have a feeling things are just fine with my vitamin levels but we shall see.

Talk to you soon!

  1. Good plan!

It's strange that fellow had a vitamin D deficiency. It's an easy vitamin to get.
Was he not going outside on sunny days? Most of our vitamin D comes from exposure to sunlight.

I look forward to hearing your results!

  2. I don't know. I guess he had low amounts for some reason.

Anyway, it spurred me on to check my vitamin levels. Monday's visit will hopefully acomplish that.

  3. I have been hearing about this a lot lately. I guess Vitamin D deficiencies are very common in New England.
